I want to change my pad but I don’t want anyone to know I changed my pad. I feel like when people know I’m on my period (this is my first time) they look at me weird when I go pee.

Okay so this is totally normal to feel a little bit shy about changing your pad, especially when it's your first time doing anything period-related. Literally everyone has been there. But guess what? So so many people are using the bathroom for so many reasons, and no one is really paying attention to what a pad wrapper sounds like or if you're carrying a little bag with you.

Changing your pad can be super discreet! You can just carry it in your pocket, or in a small little makeup bag or pencil case that you keep in your backpack. You can even wrap a fresh pad in a tissue or a paper towel before you head to the bathroom if that makes you feel better. When you're in the stall, just open it quietly and then wrap up your used pad in some toilet paper and put it in the trash bin.

Most people are just focusing on their own stuff in the bathroom. They really aren't trying to figure out if you're on your period. And if someone does happen to notice, honestly, who cares? It's a totally normal part of life, and anyone who makes it weird is the one with the problem, not you. You're just taking care of your body, and there's nothing weird about that.
