So I don't have an adult that goes with me I should but I don't. I am preparing for my first. And I do bring a back pack. But what happens if I run out and I am the only girl child in the house

Okay so if you run out of supplies and you're the only girl in the house, it can feel a little stressful, but it's totally manageable. You've got options, don't even sweat it.

What to do if you run out:

• Ask a trusted adult: Even if you don't have a girl adult there, you probably have an adult, right? Like a dad, an uncle, a grandparent, or anyone older who shops for the house. You can just say something like, "Hey, I need some pads or tampons, can you pick some up next time?" They might feel a little awkward, but they'll get it because it's a super normal thing that happens to like, half the population.
• Emergency stash: Maybe you have a friend who lives nearby? Or a neighbor you trust? You could text them about it. Also, if you're at school, the nurse's office usually has emergency supplies. Just saying.
• Temporary fixes: Worst case scenario, if you're super stuck and nobody is around, you can fold up some toilet paper and use it temporarily in your underwear. It's not ideal, but it works in a pinch until you can get proper supplies. Just change it often.

It's awesome that you're preparing with a backpack stash, that's literally the smartest thing to do. So proud of you for being so on top of it already! Even if you run out, most people are pretty cool about helping out with period stuff, especially if they know what's up. You'd be surprised.
