- After their daughter Sophia, called Sosô since she was little. The app is Soso in English and Sosô in Portuguese.

Soso is

- Ready for the big day, with a first-period kit and a letter to open when it arrives
- A simple way to log flow, mood and symptoms, and see when the next period may come
- Made by a family who went through it with their own daughter, not by big tech
Soso is not
- A pregnancy or fertility tracker
- A grown-up app with topics that aren't meant for kids
- A social network. No chat and no feeds
- Paid for by ads. There are no ads
- A doctor. It explains and reassures, but it does not replace medical advice
Our story, in short
Soso started with Sosô. When Rômulo and Verônica noticed the first changes in their daughter Sophia's body at age 8, they spent the next two years reading, learning and talking with her, so her first period would not come as a surprise.
It arrived when she had just turned 10. She was the first among her friends, so she had no one her age to talk to about it. A few weeks later, she asked for an app to track her cycle.
Every app they tried was made for adults, with pregnancy tracking and other grown-up topics. The few that claimed to be for kids were the same thing in different colors. Nothing was made for a girl who had just had her first period.
So they built one. Rômulo, who has spent his career building apps, makes the product. Verônica writes the words and sets the tone. Sosô is their toughest reviewer, and the character who guides girls through the app carries her name.
