I feel weird changing my pad in my Nonni’s house but I got my pad in my pants waist band

Okay so this is totally normal because we all get a little shy about period stuff, especially in someone else's house. But you gotta change your pad, right? So let's get you set up.

How to feel totally chill changing your pad

First, just remember that everyone who has a period changes their pads in the bathroom, and it's totally private in there. Your Nonni probably knows what's up, because she has literally been doing this her whole life. But even if not, it's cool.

Okay, so you have your fresh pad tucked away. Grab that, and if you have one, a little plastic bag or some toilet paper to wrap up your used pad. Then, take a deep breath and just go to the bathroom. Get in there, lock the door, and do your business. Nobody is thinking about you in there, I promise. They're probably watching TV or something.

Then when you come out, just act normal. Because it literally is normal. No need to announce anything, just go back to what you were doing before. You just took care of your amazing body, and that's something to be proud of, not weird about. Maybe the next time, just stash a fresh pad in your pocket beforehand so you don't have to worry about where it is.
