QUESTION BY GLITTER_DOLPHIN

Ok. Why has my pms like changing! Like 3 weeks ago I had lighter pms signs, and then 3 weeks later I suddenly get stronger pms syntoms. Like cramping and breast soreness. And no bleeding! Why is this?

It sounds like your body is just figuring things out, and totally normal for your PMS to change and be different from one cycle to the next, especially when you're still pretty new to periods. Your hormones are like, literally going on a wild roller coaster right now, and that's usually why things feel so random. So some months you might have strong cramps and sore boobs, and other months it might just be a little crankiness or nothing at all.

What's going on with your body

Your body releases different hormones all the time, and these hormones control your whole cycle, including PMS. In the years leading up to your first period, and for a while after, your body is still getting the hang of it. This means your hormones can be a bit all over the place, and that totally affects how your PMS feels. Sometimes you might not even ovulate (which is when an egg is released), and that changes your hormone levels for that cycle too.

What to do about it

Just keep track of how you're feeling! Like, write it down or log it in an app. This can help you see if there are any patterns. Knowing what to expect, even if it changes, can make it less surprising. For cramps, a heating pad or some gentle stretches can really help, and for sore breasts, a comfy sports bra can make a big difference.

If your PMS symptoms get super intense, like if the pain is so bad you can't go to school or do your usual stuff, it's a good idea to chat with a trusted grown-up about it.
