I think I’m gonna. Get my period tomorrow we are going on vacation I have had really difficult dealings today and different fealing cramps

Soso answered

Big feelings and lower tummy cramps are very common signs that a period might be on its way, especially with the extra stress or excitement of packing for vacation.

Hormone changes right before a period can make feelings bigger, and doctors aren't totally sure how. At the same time, your uterus is a muscle that squeezes to push out its lining, and those stronger squeezes are what cause cramps. Traveling can be stressful, and stress definitely affects how your body feels.

What you can do right now

  • Pack supplies in your carry-on or day bag right now, including pads, period underwear, and a spare pair of pants just in case.
  • Tell a grown-up how you are feeling so they know what is going on and can help you get ready.
  • A heat pad, or a hot water bottle wrapped in a towel that a grown-up fills, can help too, and in a few small studies heat worked about as well as medicine.
  • Ask a grown-up about pain relief: there are medicines that help period pain, and a grown-up decides if you take one, which one and how much, for your age and weight.

Tell a grown-up if the pain stops you doing normal things like school, doesn't get better with the pain relief a grown-up gives you, or keeps getting worse from one period to the next.

If the feelings don't ease within a few days of your period starting, or they get in the way of school, friends or sleep, tell a grown-up you trust. If the feelings ever get so big that they scare you, or you don't feel able to keep yourself safe, tell a grown-up you trust straight away.

Soso answered

Cramps do not run on an exact schedule or watch, so there is no way to know if they will strike at the exact same hour today. Your uterus is a muscle, and it squeezes to push out its lining. Those stronger squeezes are what hurt, and they…
