It's totally normal to feel like your body is doing its own thing, even if you have a lot of the signs of puberty. Everyone's body is on its own schedule for getting a period.

Okay so your body can go through a bunch of changes that make it look more mature, like breast development and even getting discharge, for a while before your actual first period. It's like your body is getting everything ready behind the scenes, and the period is the grand finale. Most people get their first period between ages 10 and 15, but it can totally happen a little earlier or later and still be super normal. There's really no 'behind' or 'ahead' when it comes to puberty, just 'your unique timing'.
