Some of my friends with their period got their breasts after they got their period. I also noticed that none of my friends get pimples as much as I do and I don’t have my period yet. Also, some of my friends with their period look like me development-wise, so it’s confusing why I don’t have it.

Okay so it's totally normal to feel a little confused when your body is doing something different than your friends'. Everyone's body has its own timeline for puberty, and it's not always in the same order, which is kind of wild.

Your body has its own schedule

Sometimes, breast development (which is what you're talking about with "🍒") can start even before your period, and sometimes it can come after, just like you noticed with your friends. Also, acne is super common during puberty because your hormones are going a little wild and changing everything up. It doesn't always mean your period is super close, it just means puberty is definitely happening! You might even get pimples for a while before your first period shows up, so you're not alone there.

What to look for

The first sign of puberty is usually breast buds, and then pubic hair starts to grow. After that, a lot of people notice a clear or white discharge in their undies, and that's usually a sign that your first period is about 6-12 months away. Your period usually comes when you're around 10-13, but it can be earlier or later too. It's really just your body doing its own thing, so don't compare yourself too much to your friends. You're growing exactly the way you're supposed to be!
