Why’s discharge happen when I am on a period?

Okay so, when you're on your period, it's not actually discharge happening at the same time as the usual clear or white discharge. What you're seeing is your period blood mixed with other stuff that your body is getting rid of from your uterus.

Your period is literally your uterus shedding its lining, and that lining is a mix of blood, tissue, and mucus. So when it comes out, it can look a little different sometimes. It's not the same kind of discharge you see in between periods, which is usually clear, white, or slightly yellowish and keeps your vagina clean and healthy.

Sometimes right at the beginning or end of your period, the flow is super light and the blood mixes with normal discharge, so it might look brownish or kinda watery. That's totally normal, your body is just doing its thing!
