Why is my discharge clear and sticky?

Okay so, clear and sticky discharge is totally normal. It means your body is doing its thing and getting ready for ovulation.

What it means

Your body makes different kinds of discharge throughout your cycle, and the clear, stretchy kind is usually when your body is about to release an egg. This is called ovulation, and it's a super important part of your menstrual cycle. It's literally your body's way of being like, "hello, big things are happening in here!" But you won't actually get pregnant unless you're having sex, so don't even worry about that.

What to do about it

You don't really have to do anything about it. Some people like to wear a panty liner if it feels like a lot, but that's just a personal choice. It's totally fine to just let it be. It's a natural part of growing up and having a healthy body.

When to tell a grown-up

Pretty much any kind of discharge is normal, but if it ever starts to itch, smell weird, or change color (like green or gray), then it's a good idea to tell a grown-up just to get it checked out. Most of the time it's nothing, but it's always good to be sure.
