If someone says something mean, remember it says more about them than it does about you. You're just doing your thing, growing up, and that's cool.

If you're worried about leakage, that's what period products are for! Pads, tampons, period underwear, whatever you use is there to keep everything contained. And it's a good idea to keep a spare pad or two in your backpack, just in case. Changing your product regularly also helps keep everything fresh and secure. If someone ever tries to be gross about it, try to just shrug it off. Or if you feel brave, you can even say something like, "So? Half the world gets periods. It's totally normal." That usually shuts them up because they don't expect you to be so confident.

If someone is really bothering you or making you feel super uncomfortable, it's always okay to tell a trusted grown-up, like a parent, teacher, or school counselor. They can help you figure out what to do next so you don't have to deal with it alone.
