I just got my period why does my mom ask so many questions like what color is it is there a lot more??

Okay, so your mom is probably asking all these questions because she cares about you and wants to make sure everything is okay with your period. It might feel a little much, but she's just trying to understand what's happening and how she can help. Moms, right? They just want to know everything.

Talking about period stuff can feel kinda weird and personal, especially at first. What your period looks like, like the color and how heavy it is, can sometimes give clues about what's going on with your body. For example:

• Flow: Some days are heavier than others. Usually, the first day or two can be the heaviest, and then it gets lighter.

It's a good idea for you and your mom to know what's typical for your body. If your flow suddenly gets super heavy (like soaking through a pad or tampon every hour for several hours), or if the color is really unusual or you have clots that are super big, that's definitely something to mention to a grown-up or a doctor.
