Period swimwear is literally made for this, like that's its whole job. It has special layers that absorb your flow so nothing leaks out into the water, and no one will even know. Just make sure to put them on before you get in the pool or ocean and change into fresh ones after you're done swimming, especially if you're hanging out for a while. Usually, they work best for lighter to medium flow days, so if it's super heavy right when it starts, you might just want to check if yours can handle it.
