I haven’t gotten my first period yet though

It's totally normal to be waiting for your first period, and it can feel like everyone else is getting theirs already. Periods usually start between ages 10 and 15, but everyone is different. Your body is doing a lot of growing and changing right now, and your period will show up when it's ready. You can't really rush it.

Signs your period might be getting closer

There are a few things that usually happen before your first period shows up. If you've noticed some of these, your period might be on its way:

• Breast buds: These are like little bumps under your nipples, and they're usually the first sign of puberty for most girls.
• Growth spurt: You might suddenly grow a lot taller in a short amount of time. Like, whoa, where did these long legs come from?
• Pubic and underarm hair: Hair starts to grow in new places.
• Vaginal discharge: This is like a clear or whitish fluid that you might see in your underwear. It usually starts a few months to a year before your first period. It's totally normal and helps keep your vagina clean.
