I have a lot of medium hair down there and I'm growing pimples; does it mean I might get my period soon?

Okay so, having some hair down there and getting pimples are totally normal signs that your body is changing and puberty is happening! These are definitely clues that your first period might not be too far away.

Pubes and Pimples

Growing pubic hair is one of the first big signs of puberty. It usually starts out soft and light, and then gets thicker and maybe a bit darker over time. Everyone's hair growth is different, so "a lot" or "medium" is just how it is for you, and that's okay! And pimples, ugh, I know. Hormones during puberty are literally all over the place, and they can make your skin produce more oil, which leads to breakouts. It's super common and pretty annoying but it's another sign your body is doing its thing.

When to expect your period

Your period usually comes a bit after you start growing pubic hair and your breasts start to develop. Most people get their first period about two years after their breasts start budding. If you’re also noticing some clear or white discharge in your undies, that's like a VIP pass for your period arriving soon, usually within the next few months to a year. And, usually, your period shows up after a growth spurt, so if you've shot up in height recently, that's another thing!
