There's no way to know an exact date for your first period, but usually it happens between ages 10 and 16, with 12 as a super common age to get it. So you're right in the normal window for when it can happen!

Your body gives you some clues before your period actually starts. One of the first signs is usually breast buds forming, and then growing over time. Another big one is vaginal discharge, which often starts a few months to a year before your period. This discharge is usually clear or white and can feel a bit sticky or slippery. It's totally normal and actually a good sign your body is getting ready.

Also, a lot of people have a growth spurt in the year or two leading up to their first period. So if you've been shooting up in height, that could be another clue.
