So how far is the period, I would say four months? Maybe five?

Okay so it's super hard to say exactly when your period will arrive, because everyone's body is different! But usually, your body starts giving you some clues a few months before your first period actually shows up.

Things like developing breasts and growing taller really fast (that's called a growth spurt!) are big signs that puberty is happening. Most people get their period about two years after their breasts start growing. Another major clue is getting a white or yellowish discharge in your underwear. That usually means your period is maybe 6-12 months away, so it's a pretty good heads-up!

If you're noticing these things, it means your body is getting ready, which is cool and totally normal. You can totally ignore it, or you can start getting period products ready, like pads or period underwear, so you'll be prepared when it does show up.
