I haven’t got my period yet (I think) but last night I looked at my undies and saw brown stuff I was gonna tell my mom but decided to wait till morning (bad choice I was to nervous to get to sleep) another thing to note is there was also pink on the tp when I wiped but when I wiped this morning it was nothing and no new brown stuff did I get my period or not (also I’m going to my Nonni’s house today to SWIM so idk)

Okay, so it sounds like you might have just had some spotting, which is like, totally normal and can happen before your periods really get going. Brown stuff and pink on the toilet paper can sometimes be the very first sign, like your body is just testing things out.

Your first period doesn't always show up with a huge announcement. Sometimes it starts super light, like just a few spots, and then it might disappear for a bit before really flowing. That's why it can be hard to tell if it's the "real deal" yet. It's also totally normal to have a little bit of discharge or spotting and then nothing for a while, especially when your body is figuring out puberty. You're literally growing up, so your body is doing all kinds of new things it's never done before!

As for swimming today, go for it! If it's just a little bit of spotting, you probably won't need anything. But if you're worried, you could always put on a thin liner or a small pad just in case, that way you don't have to stress about it. You can totally still swim on your period! There's no rule against it, and it feels nice actually. Just use a tampon if you're bleeding enough for that, or a menstrual cup. But for now, if it's just a few spots, you're good to go.
