I always get bullied for not getting my first period yet,I am in Hong Kong and I am turning 11 this year,is there any thing that can make me get my first period faster?

What's normal?

Okay so most girls get their first period between 10 and 15 years old. The average is around 12, but like, that's just an average! It's totally normal to get it earlier or later than your friends. Everyone's body is on its own schedule, and there's no right or wrong time for it to happen.

What's actually happening

Your body needs to be ready for its period, and it usually gives you some signs before the big day. You might notice:

• Breast buds: This is like the first sign and usually happens a few years before your period.
• Pubic hair: Hair starts growing down there.
• Growth spurt: You suddenly grow taller really fast.
• Vaginal discharge: This is a clear or white liquid that you might see in your underwear. It usually starts a few months before your first period.

These things happen because of hormones, and your body is getting ready for your period. It's totally out of your control, just like you can't make yourself grow taller or change your hair color.
