Okay so predicting exactly when your first period will show up is kinda impossible, because everyone's body is on its own schedule. But there are totally some signs that it's getting close!

Signs your period is on its way

Your body starts getting ready for your period a while before it actually arrives. You might notice some stuff happening like:

• Breast buds: These are like little bumps under your nipples, and they're usually the very first sign of puberty. Your breasts will grow over a few years after that.
• Pubic hair: You'll probably start to see hair growing down there, and maybe some under your arms too.
• Growth spurt: Lots of us have a big growth spurt like a year or so before our first period. You might notice your clothes getting too short or your shoes getting too small really fast!
• Vaginal discharge: This is probably the biggest sign that your period is coming soon. It's like a clear or whitish fluid that you might see on your underwear. It means your body is getting ready, and your period could be like 6 months to a year away after you start seeing discharge.

Most girls get their first period between ages 10 and 13, but it can totally happen a bit earlier or later, like anywhere from 8 to 15. The average age is around 12, but again, your body is unique!
