That's usually the first major sign of puberty, and your period usually shows up about two to three years after that starts. So if you're seeing some changes there, you're on your way!

Another super common sign is discharge. It's this white or clear goo that you might notice in your underwear. It usually starts a few months to a year before your first period. It's totally normal and just your body cleaning itself and getting ready. It means things are happening down there! You might also have a growth spurt, like getting taller really fast, and sometimes you feel a little crampy before your first period too.

Basically, your body is getting ready for a while before the main event, so pay attention to those signs. Doctors say most girls get their first period between 10 and 13, but it can totally happen earlier or later. Everyone's body has its own schedule.
