Oh, that's the million-dollar question! I really wish I could give you an exact number like "there are 3 months and 2 days left until your first period," but there's no way to know for sure. Every girl is unique, and each body has its own rhythm for starting menstruation. There isn't a precise date on the calendar for it, you know?

But look, most girls have their first period between the ages of 10 and 13. Sometimes it comes a bit earlier, sometimes a bit later, and that's completely okay! Your body gives some signs before your period actually arrives. Usually, your breasts start to grow first, you know? Then, after a little while, about two years, you start to notice vaginal discharge that looks like a bit of clear or whitish discharge in your underwear. It's after this discharge that your period usually doesn't take too long to arrive – it's typically about six months to a year later.

And one thing doctors mention is that the growth spurt is also a good sign that your body is preparing. That's when you grow a lot suddenly, and your clothes get short super fast!

All these signs show that your body is growing and preparing, but it's impossible to predict exactly when the big day will be. The cool thing is that your body gives you some time to get used to the idea and get ready.
