It's true that many girls are menstruating earlier nowadays, like around 10 or 11 years old, but it's still super normal to start menstruating between 8 and 15 years old, okay? Every body is different, I swear!

To know if your first period is coming, we can look at some signs your body gives. It's like clues, you know?

Signs That Your Period is Coming

• Are your breasts starting to grow? Usually, breasts start to develop about two years before the first period. First, a very small lump appears, like a bud, and they grow slowly.
• Do you have clear or whitish vaginal discharge? This discharge is like a warning! Most girls start menstruating about 6 months to a year after they start having this discharge. It's your body's way of cleaning the vagina, totally normal.
• Have you had a growth spurt? You know when we grow rapidly, and suddenly clothes get short? That's also a sign. Usually, growth slows down a bit before the first period, and you start developing some curves.
