Just an estimate

To give you an estimate of when your first period might arrive, I need a bit more information! Like, I can't just guess without knowing anything, right? Otherwise, it would be like magic, and I'm not a magician (yet, who knows, maybe someday!).

What helps estimate

To get an idea, we look at a few things that usually happen before the first period. Like, the body gives some signals that it's getting ready, you know? The main ones are:

• Breast buds growing: If your breasts have already started to develop, like, they've grown a little, this is a big sign. Usually, your period comes about 2 years after they start growing.
• Pubic hair: If you've started seeing some hair under your underwear or in your armpits, it means your hormones are working overtime. This is also a good sign.
• Growth spurt: If you've had a growth spurt and are growing a lot, like, your clothes got short really fast, your period usually comes after this phase of rapid growth.
• Vaginal discharge: Oh, and if you've noticed clear or whitish discharge in your underwear for a few months, bingo! This is one of the last signs before your period.

What you can do

It's super normal for your period to start between ages 10 and 13, but it can be earlier or later. Every body is different, right? There isn't an exact day everyone gets their period!
