Hi Soso why do girls get periods

Okay so basically, girls get periods because our bodies are getting ready to maybe, someday, make a baby. It's like a monthly clean-out system, super cool and a little dramatic if you ask me. 😂

Your body builds up this comfy, soft lining in your uterus every month, just in case a tiny fertilized egg needs a cozy place to grow. If no egg shows up (which is most of the time for like, forever!), your body is like "nope, not needed!" and it sheds that lining. That's your period – just your body clearing out the old stuff to make way for a fresh new lining next month. It's called a menstrual cycle, and it happens over and over again.

It can feel a little weird when it first starts, but it means your body is growing up and doing its thing! It's a totally normal part of being a girl.
